Planets Align for Antonio Argüelles

Spread the love

Mercury, Venus, Mars, Uranus, and Saturn appeared in the night skies above Oceans Seven swimmer Antonio Argüelles (66, Mexico, MSF bio here, @arguelles7mares) en route from Santa Catalina Island to the Palos Verdes Peninsula.

Argüelles completed his seventh career in 13 hours 50 minutes with escort kayakers Dan Simonelli and Jeff Rake, crew chief Ricardo Durón, CCSF observers Donald Van Cleve and Steve Sutton, and support crew Jimena ArgüellesDr. Ariadna del VillarAdam SkolnickDiana NyadBrad Howe, and Steven Munatones at the age of 66.

His steady turnover reminded me of the tales he shared in his books, A cada brazada: el azul interminable (Each Stroke: Endless Blue in English that he wrote with Nora Toledano, and Travesía Interminable (The Forever Swim in English that he wrote with Adam Skolnick).
