Ricardo Durón Molina, a coach of Oceans Seven swimmer Antonio Argüelles of Mexico, organized a swim trek on Isla Cerralvo or Isla Jacques Cousteau located off the Cerralvo Canal coast near La Paz, Baja California Sur, Mexico.
“It was really beautiful,” he explained. “We did it with just a bunch of swimming friends to see if it would be a good venue, time of year, logistics, etc before going full throttle with it. People were delighted and anxious to get there again, so we are getting ready to launch it on 2026.
I am hopeful that swimmers from other parts of the world will have the chance to see this spectacular place, swimming next to the coast with great views of some reefs and with plenty of sea life around, as Jacques Cousteau himself tried to show us through his videos.”
