Susami is a remote coastal town in Wakayama Prefecture located far south of Osaka and Kyoto in central Japan. Far away from industrial complexes and sources of pollution, the coastal swimming in Susami is great.
On the southern portion of the Kii Peninsula, the coastline is a rocky with a moderate climate and relatively warmer water temperatures due to the Kuroshio Current flowing just offshore. The water clarity is very good as can be shown below:
