She also completed a 32.3 km Catalina Channel crossing, and competed in the 45.9 km Manhattan Island Marathon Swim, local marathon swims, and three USA Swimming national championship events between 15 km and 25 km in her early to mid-20’s.
Dial forward two decades and Filler still finds herself among swimmers and in the open water.
She founded See Her Swim from her base in Petaluma, California on the northern reaches of San Francisco Bay.
Along her journey to aquapreneurism, she was featured on The Battle of the Sexes while raising children, surfing, and coaching.
She explained why she founded and creates See Her Swim swimwear, “I was unable to find an attractive, comfortable, and fashionable bathing suit that could be worn in different situations: on the pool deck with clients, surfing with girl friends, training during practice, and playing in the waves with her daughters.”
So she was motivated to design her own line in the Performance Chic category.
“Our bathing suits are made out of stretch, recycled polyester that offers sophistication without compromising fashion and allows the suit to hold its shape longer than Lycra. These suits are made to stand up to the chlorine and sun conditions of swimming and surfing that make suits disintegrate quickly.”
Filler’s tagline is “Inside every female athlete is an unstoppable woman. This is swimwear for her.”
Filler also writes a blog on a wide variety of topics – read on here.
