Queen of the Ice Alisa Fatum Lives Up to Her Title, Sets Her Second World Record at the European Ice Swimming Championship

When Alisa Fatum arrives, expect the water to be churning – and so it was for the second day in a row in Oradea, Romania for the IISA 1st European Championship.

Similar to her German teammate Andreas Waschburger, the 29-year-old phenom repeated another world record performance on Day 2 with a remarkable world record time of 12:41.35 in the 1000m freestyle final. She broke her own existing record of 12:46.04 by a sizable margin.

And what will Fatum conclude on Championship event today, on Day 3? Time will tell. And it will be a fast time. Very very fast.

Greece, Luxembourg, Romania, Ukraine, Armenia, Denmark, Hungary, Malta, Russia, Austria, Estonia, Iceland, Moldova, San Marino, Azerbaijan, Faroe Islands, Ireland, Monaco, Serbia, Belarus, Finland, Israel, Montenegro, Slovakia, Belgium, France, Italy, Isle of Man, Netherlands, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Spain, Bulgaria, Germany, Latvia, Norway, Sweden, Croatia, Gibraltar, Liechtenstein, Poland, and Switzerland will take part.
