Why I Swim is a touching short film directed by James King.
The film explores 42-year-old Alex Francis’ entry into open water swimming while living with Motor Neurone Disease. Francis is a British software engineer with a young family and a passion for ultra distance running had his life turned upside by the disease.
Francis uses cold water swimming as a release and has given him an important focus.
He has a type of motor neurone disease called Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis and desperately needs to extend his home to provide a suitable ground floor living space for him. His family are trying to raise funds towards this and any donations would help.
