Winner Trent Grimsey pulled a classic stealth move on the third loop.

Trent moved 30 meters to the left of the lead pack – out of eyeshot – and then picked up his pace to 88 strokes per minute with a six-beat kick – to open up a 45-meter lead which he never relinquished.
