The venue for the 2011 FINA World Swimming Championships has been set at Jin Shan Beach(金山城市沙滩). The China Daily calls Jin Shan Beach “a natural beach, a rare occurance in Shanghai where it is located in a Shanghai suburb (Jinshan District). Though it’s not as good as the famous beaches in Qingdao or Hainan, Shanghai residents love it.”
Since the top ten men and women in the 10K race will automatically qualify for the Olympic 10K Marathon Swim in the 2012 London Olympics, we know there will be many memories made in Jin Shan.
