Record Set By Wayne Evans In Lake Te Anau

Wayne Evans set a record in the 14°C (57.2°F) waters at the 1.9K Lake Te Anau crossing this weekend. His time of 22:42 water on Saturday morning came on the back of his scorching summer of fast pool swimming, but it also came as a pleasant surprise.

I couldn’t quite believe it when I got out of the water,” especially since his four previous attempts at completing the race were halted when the event was cancelled because of poor conditions.
