Taking Open Water Swimming To The Extreme – Butterfly

Spread the love

Open Water Source distributed its weekly newsletter and received a number of interesting and passionate replies to the theme of extreme swimming.

Dr. Julie Bradshaw MBE will be attempting what is perhaps the first circumnavigation of Manhattan Island all butterfly on July 16th.

Dan Projansky will also be doing butterfly this summer. “I’m going to do a 10K in Michigan this June and then I plan on repeating the swim across Lake Geneva in Wisconsin all 8.5 mile butterfly, 8.5 miles. It’s either extreme or completely insane or both.”

We’ll leave that description up to the butterflyers themselves. Julie describes her butterfly while swimming across the English Channel here.
