Marcos Díaz, Nominee For The World Open Water Swimming Performance Of The Year

Marcos Díaz, a United Nations Development Program Goodwill Ambassador, did an unprecedented 22K swim in extremely rough conditions as part of the International Coastal Cleanup Day. Drawing nearly 20,000 people at the finish and for his ability to help increase public awareness and for swimmers’ relationship to their marine environment, Marcos Díaz’s Un Nado Por Las Costas (A Swim for the Coastlines) was nominated for the 2011 World Open Water
Swimming Performance of the Year.
