Tokyo Governor Shintaro Ishihara says Japan’s government will buy a group of islands in the East China Sea that are claimed by both Japanese and Chinese governments (see report below).

Back in 1987, Lynne Cox made swimming and political history when she swam between Little Diomede Island in Alaska to Big Diomede Island in Russia.

Perhaps someone should attempt a swim around these 5 uninhabited islets and 3 barren rocks that are located between the Chinese mainland, Taiwan and Okinawa, Japan?
