Moore Than Cold In Pedlar’s Lake

In the Brandon Mountains just below Conor Pass in Ireland, Nuala Moore trains in the high-altitude sub-5°C (41°F) water of Pedlar’s Lake.

Viewed from high above, Moore’s wake is impressive in the traquility of Pedlar’s Lake (Loch an Pheidlar). Renowned for its rugged beauty and waterfall, Moore swims in the lake throughout the winter as part of her extreme training.

Moore explains her training regimen below in Irish Gaelic which she describes as “Heaven on Earth”:
