Solid, liquid, gas are the states that water is found. This is the basic information taught to youngsters around the world in school.
But, as teenagers and adults soon learn about the community around them, the real world is usually much more complicated with all kinds of shades of meaning and definitions. This is true not only on terra firma, but also in the aquatic world.
Water comes in 19 different phases depending on temperature and pressure: 19 are ice, 2 are liquid and 1 is gas.
