Dr. Peter Attia has always been considered one of the best and brightest.
After successfully crossing the Catalina Channel in both directions, becoming the first person to complete a double crossing of the Auau Channel (Maui Channel) in Hawaii, swimming the width of Lake Tahoe, and swimming in the first relay crossing from Santa Barbara Island to the California mainland, the personable Canadian native started to focus on changing the world – bit by bit – through an innovative and bold nutrition outreach program.
His vehicles of change are education and public awareness through his non-profit organization Nutrition Science Initiative (NuSI, pronounced ‘new see’) that he launched today with Gary Taubes.
Before his first crossing of the Catalina Channel, Dr. Attia had not only never been in salt water, he had never been in cool water before. Shocked to his very core, Dr. Attia had to immediately shift his mindset and physiological expectations while swimming across the channel. It was either change or not survive in a waterway that was completely foreign to him.
Similarly, Dr. Attia is heading towards shocking the fundamental tenants of contemporary nutrition in America and helping people of every age and walk of life shift towards a more healthful way of living and nutrition.
