237 To Follow Gerd Von Dincklage-Schulinburg

Gerd Von Dincklage-Schulinburg was the first person to swim across the Rottnest Channel between Cottesloe Beach and Rottnest Island off the coast of Western Australia near Perth.

He completed his swim in January 1956. Next February, a record number 237 solo swimmers will attempt to duplicate his feat at the 22nd Rottnest Channel Swim, a wildly popular 19.7km solo and relay swim.
