Maury McKinney, Vice President of the White Mountain Aquatic Foundation, explained the benefits of swimming in a passionately eloquent interview a few days before his 26 hour 18 minute two-way crossing of Lake Winnipesaukee.

As a coach of the local swimming club in Intervale, New Hampshire, McKinney also takes his athletes for open water training sessions in local lakes and the Saco River during the summer season.
