Swim Don’t Sit

University of Queensland researchers studied inactivity and came to a surprising estimation of the cost of just sitting.

Based on the television viewing habits of more than 11,000 Australians, the researchers concluded that every hour of prolonged sitting after the age of 25 can reduce 21.8 minutes off your life. In other words, watch TV two hours a day and your life expectancy is reduced by 1.8 years. Watch even more and an average of 5 hours of sedentary nature of watching television can shave off 4 years of your life expectancy.

As a counterbalance to the potential life-altering habits of sitting on a couch or at the office for hours on end, mix in a bit of swimming we say.
