Sunny skies, wide sandy beaches, Hollywood, Disneyland, skateboarders, and surfers. There are lots of different images that come to mind when Southern California is the topic.
And one thing that Southern California – a land of 12+ million people – has in abundance from Santa Barbara to Orange County is an active swimming community. Pool swimmers, open water swimmers, triathletes, fitness swimmers. There are found in dozens of key spots along the coast: Laguna Beach, Newport Beach, Huntington Beach, Long Beach, Cabrillo Beach, Hermosa Beach, Santa Monica Beach, and Zuma Beach.
