In some delayed news…Cheetah, the chimpanzee companion of Tarzan (played by International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame athlete Johnny Weissmuller), passed away on December 17th last year. Cheetah was believed to be at least 80 years old when he experienced kidney failure.

Cheetah played the comic sidekick to Tarzan in films between 1932 and 1934.

In his retirement at the Suncoast Primate Sanctuary in Florida, it was reported that Cheetah enjoyed listening to music and throwing poop at times.
