Jaime Caballero added to his impressive marathon swimming resume today with a successful two-way crossing of the English Channel today.
A fast swimmer from San Sebastian, Spain, Caballero has what it takes to stick through a 42-mile channel swim under less-than-optimal conditions. He has the typical characteristics of a marathon swimmer: an unparalleled strength of character and a steely mindfulness.
Those assets allowed him to swim night and day, non-stop for over 24 hours as he completed the first English Channel double crossing by a Spaniard in 24 hours 36 minutes, joining the 24-hour Club for the second time.
In addition to his 26 hour 50 minute Golfo de Vizcaya swim back in 2009, the Spaniard continues to swim around the world: Catalina Channel, Manhattan Island Marathon Swim, and the Strait of Gibraltar in charity swims on behalf of Augie’s Quest.
