Hypothermia Fears Stall Swim To Wales

Spread the love

When Ireland’s Stephen Redmond does not finish a swim, you can guarantee a few things: (1) nature was beastly, and (2) plans are immediately hatched for a rematch or another swim.

In yesterday’s Ireland to Wales charity swim attempt, safety was the better part of valor. “Unfortunately we had to call off the swim in the early hours of this morning as Steve was showing signs of hypothermia which made it unsafe to carry on,” reported his escort team on Redmond‘s Facebook page. “Although it is disappointing, what is most important is Steve’s health and safety.
