Jacques Tuset is a 50-year-old french marathon swimmer and a French representative for the Channel Swimming Association.
Besides winning the French Championships in 2005 at the age of 42 years, he is also president of a Surf Lifesaving Association in Montpellier.
Tuset is a man whose DNA is all about open water swimming. He is a referee of the sport and an instructor for coaches. He is also the co-race director for an open water swimming race in Palavas, a popular 1000m swim with 200 swimmers in the south of France and won the Pierre Van Vooren Memorial Trophy in 2002 from the Channel Swimming Association for his English Channel crossing completed under the most Arduous Conditions in 12 hours 40 minutes.
From 1992 to 2012, he has swum all around the world…with no slowing down in sight. He swam across Lac Leman from Lausanne, Switzerland to Evian, France, did the Alcatraz Sharkfest in San Francisco, competed in three 25 km French Open Water Swimming Championships, completed the 30 km Swimming Marathon of the Messinian Gulf from Koroni to Kalamata in Greece, an English Channel crossing (trophée Van Hooren) in 12 hours 40 minutes, crossed the Strait of Gibraltar, competed in the 2005 Manhattan Island Marathon Swim, crossed the 21 km Strait of Corfou from Sagiada to Corfou in Greece, did a 12 km solo swim in the Seine River in Paris, completed a 20 km crossing from Fort Boyard to La Rochelle in France, competed in the 26.4 km International Transcendence Marathon Swim in Switzerland, did the 15 km French Open Water Cup in Cepoy Lake, the 12 km Cologne Marathon in Germany, the 11 km International Maliakos Marathon Swim in Greece, the 22 km IJseelmeerzwemmarathon from Stavoren to Medemblik in the Netherlands, an 18 km solo swim in Côte Vermeille from Argelès to Cerbère in France, a 13 km Traverlonga Marathon Swim in Orta Lake in Italy, the 36 km Maratona del Golfo Capri-Napoli, the 26 km International Swimming Marathon of Toronéen Gulf from Kallithéa to Nikiti in Greece, the 11 km Gozo-Malta Open Water Channel Swim, 22.3 km from isles Medes to isles Formigues in Spain, the 15 km French Open Water Cup in Vassiviere Lake, a 15km solo Ar-Men Raid from Ar-Men lighthouse to Tévennec lighthouse in France, the 21 km Beltquerung from Germany to Denmark, the 30.8 km Ultramarató de l’Ebre 30830 Swim Marathon in Spain, the 6 km Swim the Costa Brava in Spain, and the 5 km Swim the Island in Italy.
