Murray Rose whose nickname was The Seaweed Streak for his vegetarian lifestyle, was always an impressive human and true gentleman.

From his Olympic success in the pool to his years of enjoying the open water, Rose experienced so many different things in the water as an athlete, announcer and ambassador of the sport.

Before his death of leukemia in 2012, he wrote ‘Life is Worth Swimming‘, a reflection on his life and swimming career including six Olympic medals and four Commonwealth Games medals along with descriptions of Australia’s beach culture and family.
