Samuel de Bona and Poliana Okimoto beat the teams from Italy, South Africa, Japan, Canada, U.S.A. and Argentina in today’s 1 km grid race on Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro.

Like their partnership to win a bronze in this summer’s World Championship 5 km team pursuit race, de Bona and Okimoto strategized and sprinted to victory to win the King and Queen of the Sea short pro relay race.
