Picturesque Pier To Pier With Pádraig

World Open Water Swimming Man of the Year nominee Pádraig Mallon, comfortable in his own bioprene, went for a Pier to Pier swim in picturesque Carlingford, Ireland with members of the Camlough Lake Water Festival team including Jacqueline Galway, Mick Mallon and Milo McCourt.

It was a great success, cold and choppy but invigorating,” said Galway. “Obvious that channel solo guy was the only one game enough in skins and that I was very out of my depth in this company.”

With snow on the ground, 40 people completed the Christmas Eve swim of 500m in water temperature that was about 6.5ºC (43.7ºF) with an air temperature of 4º.
