Daniel Projansky of Chicago, also known as Mr. Butterfly, is gearing up his shoulder, back and mind for his toughest fly campaign to date.

“I’m going to attempt 2 out of 4 lake swims in Arizona at the S.C.A.R. Swim Challenge, all butterfly in the 9-miler (14.4 km) across Canyon Lake and the 17-miler across Apache Lake. Then in June, the distance of the Red River swim (the 56.9 km Extreme North Dakota Watersports Endurance Test) has been increased to 36 miles. I am down for that too, all butterfly.

Then in August I will do the 8-mile (13.2 km) Swim4Freedom in Wisconsin.”

70 miles…112.6 km…all butterfly all summer long.
