Dubai International Open Water Swimming Championships

The 1st Dubai International Open Water Swimming Championships will be held April 18th-19th in the United Arab Emirates as part of the Dubai International Aquatic Championships.

Day 1 will include sprints and relays where swimmers from overseas swimming clubs and expatriate swimming clubs from within the UAE can participate in a 500m sprint and a 3 x 500m relay. There are also a 1 km swim and a 3 x 1 km relay event.

Day 2 will include 3 km and 5 km races.

Organized by the UAE Swimming Federation with the assistance of Russian professional marathon swimmer Natalya Pankina, the age groups include 12-13 years, 14-15 years, 16-17 years, 18-29 years, 30-39 years, 40-49 years, 50-59 years, and 60+ years. Each team is allowed an unlimited number of athletes, but only the fastest 3 per event and per age group will be allocated points.
