At Your Own Risk, No Swim Zones In North Korea

The Yalu River between China and North Korea. The Han River between North Korea and South Korea: these are rivers that are not inviting to swimmers no matter what their intentions are.

Evan Hunziker [on left] was arrested and detained by the North Korean authorities when he crossed the Yalu River in 1996.

The BBC reported (here) that an American male attempted to swim across the Han River to North Korea yesterday and was similarly detained.
