Paleontology reported that researchers in the Scottish Journal of Geology found the fossils of a specimen on the shores of Scotland’s Isle of Skye. The marine creature was called Dearcmhara (pronounced ‘jark vara’ which is Scottish Gaelic for marine lizard) shawcrossi.

The ichthyosaur, depicted above, was about 4 meters long during the Middle Jurassic period about 170 million years ago.
