The United States Olympic Committee will send over 500 representative athletes to the 2016 Rio Olympic Games next summer in Brazil.*

* In 2012, USA sent 530 athletes to the London Games (261 men + 269 women) in 25 sports who won 104 medals (46 gold + 29 silver + 29 bronze), one of which was earned by Anderson who swam for nearly 2 hours and was just touched-out by 0.4 seconds for gold by Éva Risztov in the Olympic 10K Marathon Swim.
