If we were to swim across the Catalina Channel, there would definitely be one day out of the year that would be absolutely fantastic to make the attempt.

On the fourth of July, there are several dozens of fireworks shows that start after sundown. These shows are sponsored by each local city and light up the sky like no other day.

As we would sit relaxing in the escort boat or on the shores of Catalina Island waiting for the midnight start, we could gaze across the Catalina Channel and calm Pacific Ocean to see hundreds of massive fireworks going off at once across the massive metropolitan area of Southern California.
