Simon Says Tsugaru Was Tough

Simon Olliver completed his fifth Oceans Seven channel with an 11 hour 58 minute 11 second crossing of the Tsugaru Channel from Honshu to Hokkaido.

He started in the south at 7:09 pm and swam through the night northwards in the 21°C water.

Although his overall tracker seems to be right on target from Honshu (in the south) to Hokkaido (in the north), a closer look at his tracker as he approached his goal shows that the eddies, winds and waves pushed him temporarily away from the shoreline.

But ultimately the New Zealand swimmer prevailed and continues on his Oceans Seven journey.
