The 15 km Travessia Mar Grande Salvador in Brazil will enjoy its 50th anniversary on January 13th.
World champion Ana Marcela Cunha is the overwhelming pre-race favorite for the women’s title this year. Last year, she won the overall title, but this year, 3 world-class marathon swimmers will push the pace in the coastal swim.
Brazilian’s Luis Rogerio Arapiraca and Allan do Carmo will be joined by American swimmer Joey Pedraza. Pedraza will represent the USA along with fellow American swimmer Lexie Kelly.
