According to the 2008 United States Census data, there are 50,226,000 Americans (23.8 million men and 26.4 million women) who swim at least 6 times per year – and for many, many times more.

After exercise walking, exercising with equipment, and camping, swimming is the third most popular exercise activity in the country of 310+ million people. Further analysis shows that among the most popular activities, 28% of these swimmers earned over US$100,000 in household income during that census period.
