The Search For Poseidon In North Carolina

At the 2010 North Carolina Open Water Championships in Seven Lakes will add a 1 km relay and a special Poseidon Award to the top swimmer who compete in the 2 km, 3 km and 5 km races.

The Poseidon Award is aptly appropriate for an event whose previous victors have included 2005 world 10 km swimming champion Chip Peterson and Olympic bronze medalist Chris Thompson.  Sitting pretty on the East Coast, it is a natural that North Carolina is a hotbed of open water swimming.
