The multi-discipline Against the Tide is a popular fundraising event to benefit the Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition.

Besides the two one-mile swims, the event also offers a kayak race, a walk and a run to raise money and requires its participants to raise a minimum of US$150 prior to the event.

Held in the picturesque Hopkinton State Park in Hopkinton on June 19th and in Nickerson State Park in Brewster on Cape Cod on August 21st, Against the Tide has both recreational and competitive divisions for the swim.
