Dr. Vicki Keith, C.M., O. Ont., LLD, ChPc, the Founder/Coordinator of Y Abilities Programs as one of the featured speakers at the webinar, Impact of Inclusion: Perspectives on Accessibility in Sport back in 2016.
Former United State president George Bush Sr., said of the Canadian International Marathon Swimming Hall of Famer, “Vicki has proven that a successful life means that we are engaged in the lives of others, that we are not islands unto ourselves… Vicki has shown a wonderful sense of personal responsibility and concern for others.”
Dr. Keith has long been an advocate for disabled athletes. After retiring from marathon swimming in 1991, Keith continues to raise awareness and funds for programs and projects to help children with physical disabilities and makes public appearances as an inspirational speaker.
The Accessibility Directorate of Ontario offered the webinar that discussed perspectives on how greater accessibility and inclusion in sport can positively affect the health and well-being of marginalized populations around the world including people with disabilities.
