The Caribbean Sea was calm and inviting for Diana Nyad’s 103-mile solo swim to Cuba.
With wind speeds forecasted to further decrease over the next 2-3 days, this was the optimal time to attempt this audacious swim.
The Doldrums have hit the middle of the channel and the seas have totally ironed out. The Caribbean is glassy flat. Hopefully, it will remain so for the duration of Diana’s swim.
The time and conditions are right.
