Matías Ola went for it again.
The Argentine swimmer attempted a crossing of the 19.5 km Tsugaru Channel for the second time on July 28th.
After a start at 2:47 am from Kodomari, Aomori on the island of Honshu, he swam for 12 hours 55 minutes, zigzagging a rough 34.01 km course across the Tsugaru Channel.
But he was ultimately pulled from the channel – for the second time after his initial July 2018 DNF attempt – due to the same rough conditions and adverse currents.
