Since its beginning in 1949 as part of the Kelowna Regatta, the 2.1K Across The Lake Swim in Lake Okanagan in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada has always been a favorite event for swimmers from the Okanagan and beyond.
Over 400 swimmers of the ages from 19 to 75 – some with wetsuits, others without – took part in 2009 enjoyed the race in addition to the generous goodie bag and post-race feast.
The Kelowna Masters Swim Club and the Okanagan Masters Swim Club are two friendly local clubs that provide an abundance of help and support for those new to the sport and for those who simply want to swim faster (or straigher).
