Jorge Delgado, the former two-time Olympic butterfly from Ecuador, explained how the Olympic dream was achieved for the sport of open water swimming. He gives the insider’s view of the background of the Olympic 10K Marathon Swim during his acceptance speech at the United Nations. Jorge was given the Certificate of Merit from the International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame for his leadership and efforts on behalf of the sport as the current Vice Chairman of the FINA Technical Open Water Swimming Committee.
