Lisa Bier will present her book, Fighting the Current: The Rise of American Women’s Swimming, 1870 – 1926, at the 1st
International Aquatic History Symposium & Film Festival on May 9th – 12th.
Lisa will present a number of gripping stories of the women who battled their communities and sometimes their families to swim competitively.
As part of the 2012 International Swimming Hall of Fame induction weekend, the symposium brings together renowned writers, filmmakers and artists whose work serves to promote swimming in the media and with the general public.
