Doug Woodring is a lightening rod of positive energy and practical action.
He not only organizes the Clean Half Extreme Marathon Swim and Sheko Challenge open water race in Hong Kong, but he works to bring awareness and practical solutions to the problems of pollution in our ocean. Co-founder of the successful Project Kaisei and the Hong Kong Shark Foundation, he recently founded Ocean Recovery Alliance, which focuses on bringing innovative remedies, technology, collaborations and policy together to improve the health of the ocean. For his vision, commitment and successes, Doug Woodring is nominated for the 2011 World Open Water Swimming Man of the Year.
