After training in America over the last several weeks, including with Team Santa Monica under the intensity of USA Olympic open water swim coach Dave Kelsheimer, Japan’s Yasunari Hirai is off to compete in the 7th Asian Open Water Swimming Championship in the Putrajaya Lake in Malaysia on May 19th – 21st.
Very close to the Prime Minister’s Office and other scenic sites and landmarks, two-time Olympian Hirai will attempt in the Asian championships for the first time in his career. He hopes to win his first Asian championship after several high FINA World Cup finishes over his lengthy career and a recent top 8 finish at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
