Ron Collins became the 79th person to complete the Triple Crown of Open Water Swimming.
Although he had complete the English Channel and Manhattan Island Marathon Swim, he had become hypothermic on his first attempt of the Catalina Channel and had to get out. For his second attempt at the Catalina Channel, he grew a little more hair on his head and added a little more heft to this body frame.
Hairier and armed with a bit more bioprene, he made it across the Catalina Channel and entered the books at the 79th individual in history to achieve the Triple Crown of Open Water Swimming.
