Ben Lecomte has been living in Austin, Texas in the build-up to The Longest Swim from Tokyo to San Francisco. He has spent years planning, organizing and raising funds for The Longest Swim, a stage swim of up to 6 months across the Pacific Ocean.
While his crew members come from all over the world, everyone will have a new home in Los Angeles, California. Their new base camp is located at the Altasea Port of Los Angeles, very close to the location of the berths of Catalina Channel escort boats.
After months of trials and training between England, Hawaii, Panama and California, the team will undergo final preparations of their 67-foot escort boat Discoverer before sailing to Tokyo to start The Longest Swim. The launch is expected next spring 2018.
