Tarzan Cup Honors Johnny In Serbia

The greatest swimmer and Hollywood icon Johnny Weissmuller was born in the Banat area of Serbia.

The birthplace of the dual inductee in the International Swimming Hall of Fame and the International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame is located close to the location of the 1.5 km and 3 km Peskara Swimming Marathon held on June 23rd in Lake Peskara in Zrenjanin in northern Serbia.

The Peskara Swimming Marathon or the Tarzan Cup in Lake Peskara in Zrenjanin in northern Serbia, the first stop in the Serbia Open Water Cup and part of the Global Swim Series.

In his honor, the Johnny Weissmuller Trophy is awarded to the first place male and female competitors in the Peskara Swimming Marathon.
