Andy Ortega García kicked off the Catalina Channel swimming season today with the first successful solo crossing of the 2018 season in 10 hours 15 minutes 17 seconds.
The Spanish swimmer from the Canary Islands completed his charity swim on behalf of the Asociación Niños con Cáncer Pequeño Valiente, a charity supporting children with cancer and their parents.
It was the second stage of his Triple Crown of Open Water Swimming attempt after his English Channel crossing last year.
