44-year-old Angela Maurer won the women’s title at the Faros Maratón again back in September while 20-year-old Grgo Mujan easily won the 16 km professional race in 3 hours 27 minutes.

Maurer, who twice represented Germany at the 2008 (placing 4th) and 2012 Olympic Games (placing 5th, 4 seconds from gold) in the 10 km marathon swim, still has it. She finished second overall in 3 hours 39 minutes while 59-year-old Irene van der Laan of the Netherlands finished 7th among the women that would have placed her 11th among the (younger) men.
